The Drik Siddhanta (Drik Panchang) is computed from the true apparent positions of the planets, not from the old Surya Siddhanta mathematics.

Checked minute by minute against a printed Drik panchang: Kojagari Purnima begins at 11:57 am on 25 October 2026 — the same in print and in our calculation.

Hindu Panchang 2026-27 — what is a Panchang and why is it needed?

Tithi and Paksha

The tithi of each day of the lunar month — from Pratipada to Amāvasyā or Pūrṇimā. The auspicious times for festivals, pūjā and vrata are fixed by whether the day falls in the Śukla or the Kṛṣṇa pakṣa.

Nakshatra

The position of the Moon among the 27 nakshatras. From Aśvinī to Revatī, each nakshatra settles whether an undertaking is auspicious — of particular bearing on marriage, travel, gṛhapraveśa and business.

Yoga and Karana

The combined motion of the Sun and the Moon forms the 27 yogas. Beginning work under Siddha, Śubha or Amṛta yoga is auspicious; under Viṣkumbha or Śūla it is to be avoided. The karaṇa changes with every half-tithi.

Sunrise and sunset

Exact sunrise and sunset for your own city. Know the length of the day and the hour of dusk — a help in fixing the right time for pūjā, ritual bathing and religious observances.

Varabela and inauspicious periods

Bārabelā, Kālarātri, Candradagdhā and Yogavarjya — the inauspicious spans fixed for each weekday. Important work, travel or agreements are best avoided in these hours.

Auspicious muhurta

The best hours of the day, including Amṛta-yoga, Māhendra-yoga and Akṣaya-yoga. For marriage, a new business, gṛhapraveśa or travel — the exact auspicious muhūrta, drawn from tithi, nakshatra and yoga together.

Panchang by the Drik Siddhanta

This almanac is built on Drik-ganita planetary computation — not on the Sūrya Siddhānta. In this digital pañjikā, built on MyAstrology's own calculation engine, every figure is computed for the local time and horizon of the city you choose — India, Bangladesh or abroad, wherever you are. You can look up the tithi, nakshatra and planetary positions for any date from 1400 to 1500 Baṅgābda.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Panchang? +
The pañcāṅga is the five limbs of the Vedic almanac — tithi, vāra, nakshatra, yoga and karaṇa. It is by these five together that the auspiciousness of any day is judged.
What is the difference between the Bengali and the Hindi Panchang? +
The Bengali panjika runs on solar months (Baishakh to Chaitra), each counted from the Sun's sankranti. The Hindi panchang uses lunar months (Chaitra to Phalguna), purnimanta in North India. Tithi and nakshatra are computed the same way in both; the difference lies in how months are counted and in the conventions for auspicious times — Amrita Yoga, Mahendra Yoga and Varabela in Bengal; Amrit Kaal, Rahu Kaal and Choghadiya in the Hindi panchang. This panchang uses Drik calculation — not the Surya Siddhanta.
Can the Panjika of an earlier year be seen? +
Yes. Type any Bengali year into the "Older years" tab, or click one from the index below — the complete almanac is available from 1200 to 2000 Baṅgābda.
What is Malamasa or Adhikamasa? +
Once in every 32–33 months an extra month is added to make up the difference between the lunar and the solar year — this is the Malamāsa, or Adhikamāsa. Marriage, gṛhapraveśa and new business are forbidden in this month, but charity and merit bear undying fruit.
