    📐 Basis of the calculation

Planetary positions are computed by the VSOP87D method; the ayanamsa is the Lahiri value of the Bishuddha Siddhanta Panjika.

The prashna lagna is taken from the actual moment the question is asked and the longitude of your location.

What is weighed — the bhava of the question and the placement of its lord, exaltation/debilitation/own sign, retrogression, combustion, natural friendship with the lagna lord, the karaka planets, benefic and malefic aspects on the bhava, the Moon's bhava and its applying conjunction, and the paksha of the Moon.

The table of natural planetary friendship is checked against the Bishuddha Siddhanta Panjika.

What is not scored — the degree of the prashna lagna, the Moon's nakshatra, the vara and the karana. The śāstra's limits for these differ from source to source, so no number has been assigned by guesswork; the values are shown in the chart above, and the judgement is yours.

Planetary positions are astronomy; the reading is śāstra — the two are not the same.

Prashna Kundali — free horary astrology analysis

Prashna Kundali or Prashna Jyotish (Horary Astrology) is a special branch of Vedic jyotisha in which the planetary positions at the moment the question is asked are analysed to give a yes or no answer. Even without knowing the date, time or place of birth, this method gives an instant answer.

    How does prashna astrology work?

The moment the question arises in the questioner's mind is taken as the "prashna lagna". The answer is settled by weighing the lord of the relevant bhava, the karaka planets, the Moon and the strength of the lagna. Each subject has its own bhava — the tenth bhava for a job and promotion, the seventh for marriage and business, the fifth for love and education.

Answers for 22 kinds of question

This tool can answer questions about a job, promotion, business, marriage, love, children, education, examinations, going abroad, money, property, a house, a vehicle, health, litigation, enemies, travel, a lost object, theft, a loan, fortune, and general matters. For each subject the strength of the lord of the bhava and of the karaka planets is examined separately.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is Prashna Kundali?

Prashna Kundali (or Horary Astrology) is a method of jyotisha in which the answer is given from the planetary positions at the time the question is asked. No birth date or kundali is needed — the moment of the question is enough.

What kind of questions can I ask?

You may ask 22 kinds of question, covering a job, promotion, business, marriage, love, children, education, examinations, going abroad, money, property, a house, a vehicle, health, litigation, enemies, travel, a lost object, theft, a loan and fortune. A separate bhava and karaka planet is examined for each subject.

What information does Prashna Kundali need?

Only your present location (city or GPS) and the subject of your question. No birth date, birth time or personal information is needed. The location is needed because the lagna depends on the longitude.

    How reliable is the result?

The result of a Prashna Kundali rests on the present planetary positions. Take it as a guideline. For any important decision, take a personal consultation with Dr. Prodyut Acharya.

Which bhava is examined in prashna astrology?

A specific bhava is examined for each subject: the tenth bhava for a job or promotion, the seventh for marriage or business, the fifth for love, children or education, the fourth for property and the second for money — and the strength of each bhava's lord and of its karaka planets is weighed.

Is Prashna Kundali a substitute for a birth chart?

No, Prashna Kundali is not a substitute for a birth chart. It is a separate method of jyotisha, used to give an immediate answer to one particular question. For a deep analysis of a life, examining the birth chart remains indispensable.
